Ehang Intelligence’s flagship product, the EH216-S unmanned eVTOL aircraft, completed its maiden flight in the Swiss Alps valley, marking its official expansion of its global flight coverage to 22 countries. The flight, conducted in Quinto, Ticino, was jointly implemented by Ehang Intelligence, the Swiss Federal Office of Civil Aviation, the Municipality of Quinto, and strategic partner DroneVia. The flight fully demonstrated the breakthrough capability of unmanned eVTOLs in complex mountainous terrain, providing technical support for future scenarios such as mountain logistics, eco-tourism, and emergency rescue.

The unique landscape of the Alps, canyons, and lakes within Switzerland serves as an ideal testing ground for the implementation of this technology. EHang Intelligence plans to use the EH216-S as a complementary solution to the existing transportation network, focusing on promoting applications such as passenger transportation, regional logistics, and material transportation for alpine pastures. Switzerland has stated that this technology has solved logistics challenges in inaccessible mountainous areas, helping to maintain regional accessibility. As the world’s first listed company and the only enterprise to have obtained the type certificate, production license, and standard airworthiness certificate issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China, EHang Intelligence will collaborate with local partners in Switzerland to connect with regulatory agencies, assess commercialization paths, and simultaneously promote the integrated construction of infrastructure, committed to integrating unmanned flight safety into the daily travel ecosystem.
