Japan’s eVTOL developer SkyDrive has made progress in developing its electric “flying car” aircraft, including test flights and certification work.

However, the vehicle is not yet available for public purchase. Commercial passenger service is still planned for a future rollout, subject to aviation certification and regulatory approval.

The viral claim that Japan’s first flying car is “officially ready for the market” is therefore misleading.
